Recycled Idea

This painting is based on my “Choir” painting. I wanted to see how it would look in a bigger format, but didn’t want to do the same exact picture. It went through quite a transformation as I made up people, then wiped others out, etc., but I think it turned out okay.

I could not have done this without my daughter. She posed for me, without complaint, whenever I needed her. It’s very convenient having a willing model in the house.

Besides the obvious beauty, there is something very soothing about your artwork! I have yet to try the pastels.. But really want to soon. I'm not sure what to look for when it comes to buying supplies. (:

Great composition, it does almost look like there twins in the front. Is that your daughters model influence ?

Amazing detail, what talent. I wish I could get my kids to pose. If I tried to get them to, my paintings would be just abstract blurs. Nice job!

Thanks, Edward!

Thank you, Christy! If you ever want to talk art supplies, feel free to email me. It's my favorite subject. :)

Thanks, Dominique! The girls do look like they could be sisters, don't they? Probably because their mouths are open. ;)

Thank you, Rob!

Gorgeous, Kari! The light on the faces and the rich tones in the shadows are superb. Not to mention the beautiful faces! This one really sings! :-) Liz

Wow Kari!!! This just pops! Realistic yet surreal in the repetition of color and shape. Great work!

Nicely done Kari! I like how it's a different color for the music covers this time too. The two pieces would look great next to each other in a show.

Could it be the start of an actual series?

Thanks, Sheila!

Thank you, Mona. I'm not planning a series of these. Not at the moment, anyway.
